In addition to your application form, you are required to submit a franchise growth plan and marketing strategy.

Franchise Growth Plan and Marketing Strategy

The following guidelines provide an overview of how you should complete the tasks and what should be included. You need to complete and save the following sections as two separate word documents and provide both the franchise growth plan and marketing strategy in order for your application to be submitted.

General language and structure

Your franchise growth plan and marketing strategy should be:

  • Clear and concise.
  • Free of jargon.
  • Well researched.
  • Achievable.

Part a) Franchise Growth Plan

The franchise growth plan outlines your vision for the future of your potential franchise, looking at where you are now, where you want to be and how you intend to get there.

Successful businesses have a clear strategy and specific objectives. Writing a growth plan drives you to focus on the details of your potential franchise and clarify exactly what you have to do to make it a success.

A franchise growth plan will:

  • Provide a specific action plan.
  • Demonstrate the seriousness of your intentions to banks, investors, colleagues and clients.
  • Set targets and measure your success.

Answers required

The requirement is to write a franchise growth plan that answers:

  1. Where do you want you to be? In what time frame?
  2. Describe your franchise vision
  3. Outline your strategies for getting there

Format

The franchise growth plan should be saved as a word document, up to approximately 1000 words in total for all three questions.

Part b) Marketing Strategy

The marketing strategy is a process that allows your potential franchise to concentrate its resources on the greatest opportunities to increase sales and achieve a sustainable competitive advantage.

Writing a marketing strategy forces you to look in depth at the marketing aspects of your potential franchise and highlight exactly what promotional activities you will need to undertake in order to make your franchise a success.

A marketing strategy will:

  • Provide an action plan.
  • Enable you to focus on the most effective methods of marketing your franchise
  • Give the best possible opportunities to demonstrate your services to potential clients
  • Set targets and enable you to measure your success.

Answers required

The requirement is to write a marketing strategy that answers:

  1. Who is your target market? Devise a simple marketing strategy, highlighting potential target markets for your franchise and how and where you would find them.
  2. What promotional activities are best suited to your marketing strategy?   Consider all forms of promotion including social media, public relations and advertising.
  3. Devise a marketing campaign for your franchise. Include what you would do, how and where you would do it, who would be involved and what would it cost.

Format

The marketing growth plan should be saved as a word document, up to approximately 1000 words in total for all three questions.
